Care Central VNA & Hospice, Inc. congratulates Veronica Vancelette-Flores on completion of the UMASS Memorial Medical Center’s Jewel Palliative Care Scholar program.  This inspiring and informative program dispels many misunderstandings about what Palliative care means. Some believe it’s an interchangeable term for Hospice, but it’s not. Palliative care is helping a patient who has a serious and progressive illness live with dignity and respect by providing quality care to alleviate symptoms and pain. Palliative care focuses on helping patients live their fullest life with quality and comfort in the presence of their serious illness. It is not end of life care. Kudos to Veronica!
